After a successful exhibition ended in 2024 I decided to visit an old friend in Ibiza and paint in the little studio which awaits me on my return to use. This time I was lucky to join a boat trip around this rocky forbidding coastline which I found to be quite a contrast to the many sandy beaches.

A few months later, I set off to paint in my favourite coastal town of Brunswick Heads in northern NSW. swimming at sunrise and with this new energy painting all day long from my sizeable cache of reference shots.

When out of nowhere a Cyclone hit the area and left us stranded with no power, I ventured out in this storm with so many curious others – by the time we reached the shore line the winds were so strong we could not walk up straight any longer and had to crawl on all fours. The gentle sloping dunes had disappeared completely as the raging waves cut a 2-metre-deep wall into the shoreline.

I decided to head south with a brief stop in my hometown Sydney then onwards to Tasmania. My first stop on this trip was the capital Hobart, framed by the rugged figure of Mount Wellington and the flow of the wide River Derwent.

Then onwards on a road trip along the eastern and northern coastline with its many national parks, hidden wild beaches and charming towns. Alongside these paintings I show paintings of our lovely countryside in Somerset and beyond and my attempts at painting flowers.

Upon my return I discovered that the venue where I have staged my annual summer exhibitions for 30 years has changed ownership, Hence, me staging this exhibition online.
The Good News: I have secured a new Gallery for my annual exhibition next year.
